Mercy Alliance for Women’s Health Offers Leadership Summit

Siouxland women are invited to take part in a unique “What Women Want Leadership Summit” on Tuesday, Feb. 9 at the Marina Inn and Conference Center in South Sioux City. The one-day workshop sponsored by the Mercy Alliance for Women’s Health seeks to help women become more effective leaders both at home and in the workplace.

Cy Wakeman will open the leadership summit with a keynote address on “Reality Based Leadership.” She will outline the key principles of that leadership model including valuing action over opinion, working with the willing, and leading first while managing second.

Katie Kemerling, Misty Wendt, and Heidi Mausbach, all executives at Ervin & Smith Advertising and Public Relations, will co-present on the topic of “Finding Friends, Fans and Followers: Top Tips and Tricks for Successful Networking.” They will share key insights into different personal communications styles, and will also talk about how to effectively use emerging social media Websites.

Linda Krei, vice president of Organizational Development and Talent Effectiveness at Mercy Medical Center—Sioux City, will discuss “ManageMEnt: How to Manage Me.” Krei will emphasize the importance of recognizing unhealthy normals and embracing an accountable perspective in order to nurture healthy relationships to connect with self, others and with spirit.

Wakeman will close the leadership summit with a presentation titled “Be it! Do It! Have It!” She will discuss how belief has great power, and how you can change your thinking to change your life.
