Patients who receive infusion therapy at Mercy Medical Center now have the convenience of receiving treatments in a newly designed Ambulatory Services Center near Mercy’s Jones Street Entrance. The Ambulatory Service Center has been designed so each infusion patient will have a comfortable, private room in which they can relax and even have family members wait with them during their treatment.

“The new Ambulatory Services Center is located in a much larger space with brand new, state-of-the-art equipment, which allows us to accommodate more patients and offer additional services that were previously not available on an outpatient basis.” states Sue Froid, Director of ER, Ambulatory and ICU at Mercy Medical Center.

Infusion therapy is a process of administering medication or other treatments that cannot be taken by mouth. Some of the more common reasons infusion therapy may be needed for a patient includes those who need medication for chronic illnesses such as asthma and diabetes, pain management, or intravenous antibiotics for an infection. As more medications become available on an outpatient basis, the need for infusion therapy centers continues to increase.
The new Ambulatory Services Center will be staffed by experienced nurse clinicians who are highly skilled in providing outpatient treatment services and monitoring patients during their treatment. In addition to facilitating the outpatient treatments, they teach patients how to care for themselves during therapy so they can be active participants in their health care.

The Ambulatory Services Center will be conveniently located next to Patient Access Services at the Jones Street entrance near the helipad. Complimentary valet parking is available at this entrance for Mercy patients.
