Stowe Named Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner at Mercy
Dr. Jerome Pierson, Chief Medical Officer, has announced the appointment of Kim Stowe, ARNP, FNP-BC, as the Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner at Mercy Medical Center. Stowe has a wealth of clinical experience in a number of areas including oncology, urology, renal dialysis, emergency room and as a flight nurse on Mercy Air Care.
Stowe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and attained her ARNP from Briar Cliff University. She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
Palliative care is specialized medical care for people with serious illnesses. It focuses on providing patients with relief from the symptoms, pain, and stress of a serious illness—whatever the diagnosis. Stowe will be working with a team of medical professionals including physicians, social workers, case managers, nurses and other specialists to make decisions about symptom management in order to improve quality of life for both the patient and the family.
