The Wakefield, Nebraska Mercy Medical Clinic is the recipient of a grant from the Gardner Foundation in Wakefield. The $11,644 grant from the foundation will be used to update equipment in the Wakefield Mercy Medical Clinic.
The Mercy Clinic in Wakefield has been providing healthcare to Northeast Nebraska residents for 23 years. The clinic is staffed by one physician, two physician assistants and a team of nurses and sees an average of 140 patients every month.
The generous gift from the Gardner Foundation will be used to purchase new examination tables, an infant scale, new Thermoscan thermometers and other clinical enhancements.
Lea Clausen, the executive director of the Mercy Medical Center Foundation, expressed her gratitude to the Gardner Foundation for their support of the Wakefield Mercy Clinic. “Mercy is proud of the great work being done by our healthcare providers in Wakefield and this gift from the Gardner Foundation will enable us to improve our services to Northeast Nebraska,” said Clausen. “It is through the generosity of organizations like the Gardner Foundation that enable us to strengthen healthcare in rural America and we are grateful for their commitment to that need.”
In addition to the new equipment, a portion of the grant will be used to update the physical appearance of the clinic.
