Siouxland Regional Chapter (IA/NE), Oncology Nursing Society, and Mercy Medical Center – Sioux City will hold the Oncology Conference 2012 for nurses, physicians, social workers and other healthcare professionals interested in the field of oncology on Saturday, February 4, at the Marina Inn Conference Center. The day will commence check-in at 8:00 a.m. and the first presentation at 8:30 a.m. The event will conclude at 4:00 p.m.
This conference is designed to provide current information and research in the field of hereditary cancer, medical and surgical oncology.
Peter Bjerkerot, RN, OCN, will speak on Living with Cancer: Helping the Wounded Healer.
Swasti Bhattacharyya, Ph.D., will speak on Understanding Cultural and Religious Issues and Health Care.
Riza Zimmerman, MPAS, PA-C, will speak on Bone Marrow Transplant Complications.
Amy Brower, Ph.D., will speak on Medical Genetics and Genomics: Application to Cancer Care.
Jim Wharton, VP of Marketing and Business Development at Mercy Medical Center, will speak on Healthcare Reform.
Continuing education credit of 0.66 CEUs will be available for nurses, CME credit of 6.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ will be available to physicians, and certificates will be available for social workers and other healthcare professionals.
The cost for the one-day conference prior to January 20 is $79 for ONS members and $89 for non-members and after January 20 $89 for ONS members and $99 for non-members.
