The Mercy Breast Care Center, located at 330 Dakota Dunes Boulevard in Dakota Dunes, has announced extended hours to meet the increasing needs of Siouxland residents. Effective February 21, the Breast Care Center at the Dunes will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In addition, the Mercy Breast Care Center has announced that Kim Weiland, BSN, RN, LBSW, CFM will also be meeting with patients at the Mercy Dakota Dunes site to provide professional expertise to newly diagnosed patients.
Dr. Fahima Qalbani, one of Siouxland’s most established physicians in breast care health, says the additional four hours of accessibility every week will make it more convenient for Siouxland women to get the care they deserve.
Weiland, a breast cancer survivor herself, is the owner/operator of Beyond Pink. She combines personal experience with professional expertise to provide newly diagnosed, those currently in treatment, or long term survivors with services such as: pre-surgical consultation, post-surgical camisoles, breast prosthesis, post-mastectomy bras, lumpectomy solutions, swimwear, and accessories. She provides these services at the Mercy Breast Care Center in a professional, private setting as well as home visits. Ms. Weiland is a participating provider for Medicare, Medicaid and most major insurance companies.
The Mercy Breast Care Center, the first facility to offer digital mammography in this region, is also the only triple-accredited breast care facility in the region. In addition, the Mercy Breast Care Center is the only facility designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
The ACR is a national professional organization serving more than 34,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians, and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
