Mercy Schedules Popular Babysitting Training Class
Mercy Medical Center, in partnership with the American Red Cross, will be offering Babysitting Boot Camp 101 on the following dates this summer: Friday, June 1; Thursday, June 21; Thursday, June 28; Tuesday, July 10; and Wednesday, August 8. The class runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will be held in the Leiter Room on the Mercy campus.
The training is designed for children ages 11 – 15 and the $39 fee covers lunch, snacks, certificate and babysitter’s handbook. The participant must be a minimum of 11 years of age or turning 11 by October 2012 to receive a babysitting certificate.
Boys and girls who attend the class will deal with a wide range of babysitting topics including response to emergencies and illnesses, first aid, rescue breathing, safety, hygiene, feeding, diapering and a score of other sitting responsibilities.
