Mercy Medical Center Sioux City
CoOportunity Health Hits the Road with Mobile Unit
Start Date
CoOportunity Health is hitting the road in a big pink CoOportunity Health branded RV. This rolling retail center, named The Mobile Marketplace, will travel from town to town answering questions about healthcare reform and helping local residents choose the health insurance option that is best for them.

The Mobile Marketplace will be in the Siouxland area. On Monday, it will be in the Oakland, Nebraska area from 10 am – 7 pm. Tuesday, stops will be made in Winnebago. Wednesday and Thursday, it will be in Sioux City. Stops will be at West High School from 10 am – 2:30 pm and East High School from 3:30 to 7 pm on Wednesday. Thursday's stops will include Mary Treglia from 10 am to 1 pm and Four Directions from 2 to 6 pm. The Mobile Marketplace will be at St. Michael's Church in South Sioux City from 10 am to 7 pm on Friday.

“We know there are still a number of unanswered questions and uncertainty about healthcare reform and health insurance,” said Charles Olson, vice president of operations for OCi. “What better way to assist the public during the open enrollment period than a traveling retail center?” Without an appointment, consumers will be able to drop in to ask questions, compare plans, purchase and enroll in a health insurance plan all in one visit.

“Many residents of Nebraska and Iowa don’t have a local agent. Rather than expecting people to find a new trusted advisor, who may be miles away, to help them navigate what for many is an entirely new experience, we are taking the help directly to them,” said Cliff Gold, chief operating officer of CoOportunity Health.

Agents from various agencies working in The Mobile Marketplace also will be able to help individuals interested in finding out if they qualify for tax credits or subsidies and enroll through the Health Insurance Marketplace at
