Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

These chocolate chip cookies look and taste just like Grandma's, but have less calories and less fat. Serve with skim milk.

Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup (1 stick) reduced-calorie trans fat free margarine, softened
    • 1/2 cup brown sugar
    • 2 tsp Splenda®
    • 3 Tbsp water
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup flaxseed meal
    • 1/2 tsp baking soda
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 6 oz mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
    • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

Preparation

    • Preheat oven to 375°.
    • In a large mixing bowl, cream together margarine, brown sugar and Splenda until smooth. Add water and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients with a spoon.
    • Place bowl in freezer for about 30 minutes.
    • Lightly coat baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray. Drop cookie batter by rounded tablespoonfuls onto baking sheets.
    • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from oven. Let stand for two minutes. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
