Hospital Billing


As a courtesy to our patients, the Business Office will automatically file your claims with Medicare, Nebraska Medicaid, and most Commercial Insurances. We ask that you present your current insurance card(s) and information at the time of admission for accurate billing. You will receive a statement after your insurance(s) have paid their portion of the claim. Please keep in mind that you are responsible for your deductible, co-insurance and any portion of your bill not covered by your insurance policy.

Oakland Mercy Hospital also offers financial assistance to our patients.  To apply for financial assistance, please complete the application below and return it, along with the list of supporting documentation, to the Business Office.  Please send copies of all documentation.

The following documentation is needed to process the application:

  • Most recent Tax Return
  • Payroll stubs for all adults in the household
  • Outstanding medical bills (upon request) 

No application will be considered without required documentation.

Physician Fees

Fees from your physicians are generally not included in the hospital bill. The doctor's office will bill separately for physicians services. Specialty physicians also bill separately for their services.  If any radiology procedures are done, there will be a separate bill from Siouxland Radiology Professional Partners for the interpretation or reading of each test.
