In this four-hour class, you will learn how to create folders, save documents in folders, retrieve files, add attachments, and how to save and retrieve information on external storage devices. Senior Health & Fitness Day

On May 28th, all over America, thousands of Older Adults will be participating in a variety of health and fitness related activities as part of a nation-wide Senior Health and Fitness Day. Here in Sioux City, we will be celebrating health and wellness on the beautiful Riverfront. The fun includes walking, healthy snacks, screenings, and free giveaways. In the event of rain, we will move this event to Mercy Medical Center’s Leiter Room. No cost for the day’s activities. Please pre-register.
Optional: Core Wellness Screening, includes: cholesterol and glucose screenings, blood pressure screening, Personal Health Report, and a consultation with health professional to go over your immediate results. Cost is $35.00. Eligible for reimbursement by Medicare. Please pre-register and pre-pay for the Core Wellness Screening.

Difficulty Swallowing?
There are Treatments that Can Provide Relief

Dysphagia, or difficulty in swallowing, is not a disease in itself but a condition that can be brought on by many different causes because swallowing is a delicate process, easily disturbed. Some causes are minor and quickly treatable; others are more serious. James Olson, Speech Pathologist at Mercy Medical Center will discuss the symptoms, causes and treatments available for dysphagia. Cost of $7.00 includes meal.

New International Quilt Study Center/Lauritzen Gardens Complex

This one-day tour includes: deluxe motorcoach transportation, a tour of the New International Quilt Study Center, lunch at the Governor’s Mansion, and a visit to the Lauritzen Gardens Complex. The New International Quilt Study Center is on the campus of the University of Nebraska Lincoln. This quilt center preserves and exhibits what is possibly the world’s largest publicly held quilt collection. Lauritzen Gardens Complex is beautifully designed to provide visitors with an educational display of foliage, flowers and fruits from around the world. Screening
Osteoporosis Screening
Thursday, May 22
7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Attend this screening for a simple bone density test (of the heel) to help your physician determine if you are at risk for osteoporosis. Located in the 5th Floor clinic near the Jones Street entrance. Cost is $5.00, which will be collected the day of the screening. Please wear shoes and socks that can be removed easily. Appointment required.

Spend an afternoon with Ricky Boen and Texas Mud and you’ll be wondering where you can find that music on the radio dial. When Ricky entertains its full throttle every time he hits the stage.
