Employees at Oakland Mercy Hospital are celebrated during Hospital Week. Each year, longevity awards are given to those staffers that have been with the facility for 5, 10, 15, etc. years.
In 2012, OMH celebrated the following staff members: 5 years – Beth Kiner, DON; Maria Pierce, Nursing 10 years – Rita Going, Nursing 15 years – Connie Anderson, Oakland Medical Clinic 20 years – Sara Cameron, Nursing 40 years – Deb Hawkins, Nursing.
Employees also have the opportunity to vote for who goes the extra mile for the hospital, clinics and staff members. The 2012 Staff Member of the Year is Mona Tanksley. Mona works in the Health Information Management department of OMH. The following are some of the comments written about Mona:
Mona is knowledgeable in every aspect of her job and performs all things with attention to detail. She is very supportive of her coworkers and always ready with compliemnts for jobs well done. She exhibits professionalism in all that she does and goes far beyond what is expected of her. Mona’s knowledge in medical records is a great asset to Oakland Mercy. She is very reliable and dedicated. Has a caring attitude and is willing to help wherever needed. She is supportive and a “team player”. And we can’t forget to mention the countless hours she gives to make our gift shop a fun place to shop. She has a great eye for finding those special items that make the shop such a success.
As Oakland Mercy Hospital’s Staff Member of the Year, Mona will receive a "Caring Kind" award from the Nebraska Hospital Association at the annual convention in the fall.
