Each fall, for the past fourteen years, the Mercy Medical Center Foundation has hosted its signature event, the Fall Gala. This elegant and entertaining event draws much local attention and provides the financial support needed to further Mercy’s mission of hope and caring. Since its inception, the Gala has raised approximately $2,000,000 to improve healthcare for Siouxlanders. Last year’s event was sold out for the seventh year in a row.
This year’s Gala will support the Infusion/Transfusion center at Mercy. Proceeds raised through last year’s event supported the following:
*$56,953 for Surgery Laparoscopy initiative *$29,161 to purchase Endoscope upgrade *$13,850 for an upgrade to the Bioness L300 Plus in Physical Therapy
Funds raised through this event allow us to expand and enhance the services offered at Mercy Medical Center. With the current financial challenges of shrinking reimbursements and a growing uninsured population, the funds raised through the Gala are even more crucial. In the words of Sister Catherine McAuley, the founder of the Sisters of Mercy, we ask for your help as we strive “to connect the rich with the poor, the healthy to the sick, the educated and skilled to those who lack, the influential to those forgotten, the powerful to the weak, and through this, do the work of God on Earth.”
This year, our Gala will be held November 3 at the Marina Inn and we invite participants to join us at the “Legends of Rock and Roll Gala”. Tickets are $150 per person and can be purchased by calling the Mercy Foundation Office at 279-2223. For more information, click here.
