Mercy Medical Center—Sioux City will host a public reception to honor Sister Julie Coyne’s 50th Jubilee as a Sister of St. Francis on Thursday, Aug. 30, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Woodbury Room, located on the third floor of the South Hospital Building.

A native of Anthon, Iowa, Sister Julie(Marie Peronne) earned a degree in biology from Briar Cliff College.  She taught science for many years at several area elementary and high schools, including Bishop Heelan High School in Sioux City.

Sister Julie then earned a degree in pharmacy and was a pharmacist for 25 years.  Since 1999, she has been a certified massage therapist in Mercy’s Pain Management Center.
