Home Care Receives Quality Improvement Award
Mercy Home Care, a service of Mercy Medical Center—Sioux
City, has been recognized with the Quality Improvement Award by
the Iowa Foundation for Medical Care (IFMC), Iowa’s quality
improvement organization.
The award recognizes home health agencies that implement quality
improvement practices and achieve quality improvement goals.
“I am proud of our staff’s commitment to quality
care,” said Trudy Pfeiffer, Mercy Home Care’s executive
director. “Recognition of our achievements reinforces our
efforts and provides additional motivation to continually strive
to provide the best care possible for our clients.”
“We see it as an indication that we have a great home health
agency that is getting even better,” Pfeiffer added.
In presenting the award today, Deb Davis, RN, quality improvement
coordinator for IFMC, said Mercy Home Care has demonstrated statistically
significant improvement in the areas of patient care and successful
outcomes indicated in performance data submitted to the state.
“Mercy Home Care has shown over time that they are committed
to quality improvement efforts that benefit their clients,” said
Davis. “We applaud their ongoing commitment to improve health
care services and are honored to be working with them to improve
health care in Iowa.”
For the past 30 years, IFMC has been dedicated to optimizing
the quality of medical care and health through collaborative relationships,
