Mercy Pathways Program to Host Fifth Anniversary Open House
Mercy Medical Center’s Pathways program, a diverse outpatient therapy program for individuals who are experiencing personal and relationship problems, will mark its fifth anniversary with a public open house on Tuesday, Dec. 18 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Suite 360 of Mercy’s Central Medical Building.
Community members, healthcare professionals and former patients of the outpatient group therapy program are invited to attend the event. Refreshments will be served, and the program’s staff members will be available to visit with attendees about the unique services they provide.
Since Pathways was initiated by Mercy Behavioral Care in 2002, the program has drawn very positive feedback from the hundreds of Siouxland area residents it has served. In completing satisfaction surveys, patients routinely give the program and its staff excellent marks.
“Pathways is the only program of its kind in this area,” explains Brian Damon, a therapist for Pathways. “For those involved in the small group experience that forms the foundation of the program, Pathways offers an important opportunity to connect with other individuals – a chance for them to find out that they are not alone.”
Pathways is unique in that various tiers or "tracks" of specialized programming allow the patient and the program’s staff members to individualize each patient’s treatment program. The program’s flexibility also helps patients accommodate their own personal work and life schedules.
