Mercy Offers New Senior Fit Class

Mercy Medical Center—Sioux City will offer a new “Senior Fit” exercise and fitness class for older adults starting April 2 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home, 1701 W. 25th Street, Sioux City.

The free class will convene on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:25 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

“Exercise offers seniors many health benefits,” said Teresa Ernst, coordinator of Older Adult Services at Mercy.  “It helps keep your muscles strong, plus it gives you endurance and flexibility, which allows you to perform the tasks of daily living and to do the things you enjoy.”

“Our free Senior Fit class will be open to all older adults who want to improve their strength, flexibility and balance,” Ernst added.

Those wishing to attend the class must pre-register by calling Mercy Medical Center at (712) 279-2995.
