Is Now the Time?

Do you:

  • Drink or use more drugs than you really want to?
  • Drink or use to feel comfortable in social settings?
  • Sometimes accept a drink or drugs you don't really want, because someone you like or admire offered it to you?
  • Do things you normally wouldn't do, when you drink or use drugs?
  • Mess up at work or school because of drinking or using drugs?
  • Switch from drugs to alcohol or alcohol to beer to "straighten things out"?
  • Drive a car after drinking alcohol or using drugs?
  • Look forward to getting drunk or high again like the first time you drank or used drugs?
  • Have sex with someone because you are drunk or high?
  • Have a relative(s) who believes you are an alcoholic or addict?
  • Have fist fights while drinking or high?
  • Rather go to a party where alcohol or drugs are available then an activity where they are not available?
  • Sometimes get into bad arguments when you drink or use drugs that you feel awful about the next day?
  • Get drunk or high because of pressure or feelings you did not want to deal with?
  • Always join in if others are drinking or using?

This may be the time. If you answered "yes" to two or more questions, this is the time to get a formal assessment for alcohol and/or drug addiction.

Take the first step…call Mercy Behavioral Care at 712-274-4200.
