Employee Assistance Program
Supervisor/Management Consultation
Mercy EAP staff provides supervisory training at the worksite.
The training focuses on prevention and explains the different types
of referral procedures supervisors can use to guide or direct troubled
employees to EAP services. Supervisors are trained to recognize
the warning signs of poor work performance and instructed on how
to encourage the employee to seek help.
Managers and supervisors also receive information and training
regarding documentation of work performance and follow-up efforts,
including "return to work conferences."
Additionally, EAP staff members are available to provide consultation,
either in person or by telephone, to supervisors and other management
staff on such workplace issues as:
- Workplace behavior/performance
- Critical incidents
- Workforce reductions and reorganizations
- Disciplinary actions
- Drug-free workplace policy
- Sexual harassment and discrimination issues
