Wheelchair Seating and Positioning Clinic

Mercy Rehabilitation Wheelchair Clinic helps clients acquire the most appropriate wheelchair system available. Customized wheelchair systems enable the client to be more functional in his or her home and community. They increase mobility and provide necessary skin protection.

The client's needs are assessed by a team of experts that includes a physician, physical therapist, occupational therapist, E.T. nurse, certified rehabilitation wheelchair technician and social worker. Working with local wheelchair specialists, the team promptly meets the client's needs and provides follow-up care as needed.

The Wheelchair Clinic is offered twice a month and more frequently if needed.

Wheelchairs and accompanying services are covered by most payer sources with a physician's order. Qualified team members assist clients in filing a claim. Documentation is provided to help justify the client's medical need for the wheelchair system.
