Programs and Services
Whether
the effect of an illness or injury is mild or severe, a well-coordinated
rehabilitation program offers the best chance for recovery. Mercy
Rehabilitation customizes programs and services to meet the unique
needs of the patient who has suffered a stroke, traumatic brain
injury, spinal cord injury or other impairments.
Our rehabilitation experts carefully plan each step of the patient's
recovery, from evaluation and therapy to home care and community
support services. Members of the rehabilitation team work closely
with the patient and his or her family to achieve the patient's
goal. The team is led by the rehabilitation physiatrist and includes
the patient, the family, nurses, psychologists, physical, occupational,
speech and recreation therapists, the rehabilitation coordinator,
the case manager/social worker, dietician, support counselor and
pastoral care support person.
